On the occasion of National Girl Child Day on 24th January, 2019, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya organised a painting exhibition 'SWABHIMAN-PRIDE-DIGNITY' made by school students of Bhopal in collaboration with Smile Foundation, Bhopal at indoor hall of Avritti Bhawan. This exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, Director, IGRMS. On this occasion, He said that - National Girl's Day should be celebrated like a festival all over the country. Whereby in society, all the darkness related to the girl can be eradicated through awareness. This museum is engaged in work for the multi-dimensional development of children through academic and outreach activities. The aim of the Smile Foundation is also something similar; initiatives such as these should be undertaken at a large scale. The paintings are very good and expressive. He said that He appreciated this initiative of the Smile Foundation.

In the binging the programme, Mr. Sandeep Gargav, Smile Foundation, Bhopal introduces the activities of the foundation, exhibition manufacture and the talent of school children. Shri SK Sinha (a very senior artist who selected paintings for the exhibition) said that the quality of artwork was very good and children's expression very commendable.

Ms. Archana Sharma, Aranya NGO said that the painting articulated a large number of issues related to the girl child and gives hope that children of today will strive for gender equality and make a better world for the girl children.
