Four weeks of Internship at IGRMS Bhopal under the title Museum and Culture @ IGRMS.

The interns, Prachi Mittal and Ritika Verma from Dept of Anthropology, Punjab University and Atharva Korde from Dept of History, Shiv Nadar University, presented the facts and information collected during the course of 4 weeks of Internship at IGRMS Bhopal under the title Museum and Culture @ IGRMS. They each concentrated on one tribe and studied the continuity and change within those tribes. Santhal tribe of Jharkhand, Bhil tribe of Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh and Karbis of Assam were the focus point of their study and research. They talked about how they learned about the various aspects of Museology such as collection, documentation, restoration, conservation, preservation, display etc. The students also worked on preparing a visitor profile proposal which will benefit the museum by understanding the visitors, their interests and expectations form the museum as well. After the presentation, the museum staff interacted with the interns through Question and Answer as well as suggestions and inputs for their study in the field of anthropology and museology. The session was chaired by Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, Director IGRMS and Mr. Dilip Singh, Joint Director, IGRMS presented the vote of thanks.
